Length

A final article which would exceed 7000 words or occupy more than 20 pages of the journal may be asked to be reduced in size.

Figures and Tables

Graphs, charts or photographs are referred here as figures and should be numbered sequentially. Ideally, figures should be presented in black and white; if color is essential to the figure please send a good quality color image but note that figures will appear in color only in the online version.  All figures will be black and white in the printed version.  Please prepare all figures, especially fine charts, to the highest possible standards, bearing in mind that in most cases letters and numbers will be reduced in size and that some lines may disappear in the printed version.  Note that when submitting the paper, all figures should be placed at the end of the article rather than interspersed in the text.

Tables should be used sparingly and should be easy to read.  Avoid tables that occupy more than one page or fall outside the text margins.  The font size of the contents of a table should be the same as that of the rest of the text.  All tables should be placed at the end of the article, sequentially numbered and appropriately identified.

 References and footnotes

References should be made only to works that are published, or accepted for publication (if available online).  All references should be available through libraries or institutions, or identified by these institutions as formal publications (when a publication is not openly available to the public).

IJQPM uses a short reference system for citations in the text and a detailed alphabetical list at the end of the article. For example ‘Williams (1998) found that …’ or ‘Hernandez and Hernandez (2011) presented …’ or ‘A comparative  study (Smith and West, 2007) has shown that …’ .  Full reference of research articles should include all authors’ last names, followed by their initials, date of publication, title of article, title of publication (italics), volume and issue number of the journal, publisher, and page numbers.

Footnotes and end notes should be avoided, but at times short explanations are necessary.  Any short, succinct notes making a specific point may be placed in numerical order following the alphabetical list of references.
